Aadil Kirana

Our shop is located in Penshanpura, on the Bazaar Road in the Chawani area of Aurangabad. We are right near Apna General Store, so you can't miss us. It is a small kirana where we keep all the essentials like soap, lentils, and cooking spices. The shop has a blue front and a small counter where we do all the business. Aurangabad weather can be tricky, so we have to make sure the roof doesn't leak when the rains come. We have a lot of jars filled with candies and biscuits on the front shelf to catch the eye of the children. Most of the day is spent weighing out portions of sugar or rice for the local families. We don't have any computers, just a simple calculator and a blue pen. The floor is covered with a bit of linoleum that is peeling at the corners. We get our stock from the main market every Tuesday morning. Sometimes the neighbor's cat comes in to nap on a sack of grain, and we have to shoo it away. It is a friendly place where everyone says hello. We don't do any big marketing, people just know we are here. The street outside is usually full of bikes and people walking to the main bazaar. We just keep our heads down and keep the shop running. There is always something to clean or sort.
