Aadi Shree Mashale

You can find Aadi Shree Mashale right in the main city area of Aurangabad. You will probably smell the spices before you even see our sign. We spend a lot of our time grinding and mixing different things. The air in the shop is always thick with the scent of chilies and turmeric. It makes us sneeze sometimes, but we are used to it by now. We don't have a large factory. Most of the work happens right here in our small space. It’s a bit noisy when the grinders are running, so we have to talk loudly to hear each other. The shop floor is always stained a little yellow from the spices, no matter how much we sweep it. We get our supplies from the local farmers when we can. It’s just a few of us working here. Sometimes the neighborhood kids come in just to see the big machines. We tell them to stay back for safety. We don't have fancy packaging with bright colors and logos. We mostly use plain bags and hand-written labels. People in the city know us and just stop by when they need something for their kitchen. The street outside is always full of people going to the market. We like being in the middle of all that energy. It’s a honest way to spend the day. We don't put on any acts or try to sound bigger than we are. We just make our masalas and go home to our families.
