Clara Swain Hospital

This place stays busy pretty much all the time. Being located at Mani Kothi in Kudarkot, we get people coming in from all the nearby villages. The building itself has been around for a while and you can see that in the hallways. We have a lot of beds but sometimes it still feels crowded on Monday mornings. The nurses are always running around with charts. I spend a lot of time near the front desk answering questions about where the different wards are. Kudarkot is a small place so most people know where we are without needing a map. The courtyard gets some sun in the afternoon which is nice for the patients who can walk around a bit. We have a pharmacy section that stays open late. The smell of disinfectant is something you just get used to after a week of working here. Our equipment is older but we keep it running the best we can. Sometimes the power goes out and the generator kicks in with a big thump. It’s just the way things work around here. We don't have those fancy automatic doors you see in the city. Just regular doors that people push open. It’s a lot of hard work but it’s what we do. We just try to keep things organized so nobody gets lost in the system. The lights in the lobby flicker sometimes, but we have someone coming to fix that next week.
