Down on Dharmapuri Main Road in Harur, you’ll find us at number 17. It’s a busy road with a lot of trucks passing by, so there’s always a bit of noise in the background while we work. Vadivu Masala has been here for a good stretch, and the building has seen better days, but it’s home to us. We spend most of our time grinding and mixing, so the whole place smells like a kitchen most days of the week. It’s a hot job, especially when the grinders have been running for hours and the air gets thick. We don’t have a big showroom; it’s mostly just the equipment and the bags of spices waiting to be sent out to the shops. People in Harur know us by name, and we often have folks stopping by just to chat for a minute while they pick something up. We don’t put much effort into how the place looks from the outside. We’re more focused on making sure the masala is right for the local cooking. The floors are often covered in a fine dust from the spices, and we’re always sweeping up at the end of the day. It’s just a local business run by people who live right here in the area. We don't have a big corporate board or anything like that. It’s just us, the machines, and the jars. We take things one day at a time.
