Sree Mathsya Samruddhi Fish Farmers Producer Company Limited is located at No 90/1B in Ananthapura Village. We are right on the Yelahankamain Road, so it gets pretty busy with all the trucks and cars going by. Being near Attur Lake is the main reason we are here. The water is everything to us. If you come by, you’ll probably see us checking the tanks or talking to the guys who handle the fingerlings. It’s a lot of physical labor, hauling bags of feed and moving heavy crates. It’s not a clean job, you’re going to get splashed and the mud near the lake never really goes away. We started this because we wanted to have more control over how our fish get to the people. Before, it was everyone for themselves, which never worked out great. Now, we use this spot in Ananthapura as a hub. We aren't polished business people; we are folks who know how to read the water and keep fish healthy. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to scramble with the pumps, or the main road gets blocked and everything slows down. But that’s just life in this part of the world. We stay busy, we keep the fish moving, and we try to do right by the people who live around Attur Lake. It's hard work but worth it.
