You can find Jaivins Academy at No 193 in Amman Nagar. We are tucked away in the Ammampalaiyam area, which is part of Attur in Salem. It is a bit of a distance from the main city, which makes it a slightly quieter place for a school. We are a CBSE senior secondary school, so we deal with students who are getting ready for their big exams. The building itself is quite large because we need the space for all the different grades. We have some labs and computer rooms because that’s what schools need these days. People in Manjini and the surrounding villages know us pretty well. We don’t have a marketing team to tell people we are the best. We just open the gates every morning at the same time. The teachers here have been with us for a while and they know how to handle the different age groups. Salem weather can be tough, especially in the summer months, but we have enough trees around the yard to provide some shade. The classrooms have simple wooden desks and chairs, and we try to keep the walls clean. Students come in from all over the Attur region. Some take the school bus and some get dropped off by their parents. It’s a busy place during the week, but on Sundays, the whole campus is silent. We are just a local institution doing our job for the community. Most of our notices are just pinned to a board by the entrance for everyone to see.
