Amichari Hospital

Amichari Hospital is situated right near the bus stand in Poovar. It’s almost impossible to miss us if you’re getting off a bus or waiting for one. The location is very practical because people can get to us from all the surrounding villages without needing a car. You can hear the conductors shouting and the engines idling most of the day, but it’s just part of the atmosphere here. We are a local hospital that handles the everyday health problems of the people in Poovar. Whether it’s someone who got hurt working or a child with a fever, they usually end up here. The building isn't brand new, but it works for what we need. We have the basic wards and a few treatment rooms. The staff is mostly from around here, so they speak the local language and know the families. It’s not the kind of place where you'll find high-tech robots or anything like that. We use what we have to take care of whoever comes through the door. Sometimes it’s busy when a lot of buses arrive at once, and other times it’s quiet enough to hear the birds. We don't put out ads or try to convince people to come. They just know we are by the bus stand if they need us. It’s a simple arrangement that has worked for a long time now. We just do our bit to keep things running for the town.
