Renuka Sugars

Renuka Sugars is tucked away at 2328 in Proulara, over in Anjaneya Nagar. It is not a very flashy part of the neighborhood, mostly just houses and some small businesses like ours. The smell of raw sugar is usually hanging in the air around the yard. We have a lot of heavy lifting to do every day, so nobody here wears a suit or tie. We wear old clothes that can get dirty because they definitely will by noon. Our office is just a small room with a desk that has seen better days and a few chairs for when drivers come in to sign their papers. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or polished brochures. Most people find us through word of mouth or by seeing our trucks parked out front. The road can get quite bumpy during the rainy season, which makes it hard for the loaders, but we manage to get through it. We have a routine that hasn't changed much over the years. We start with a quick check of the machinery and then get to work on the piles of sacks. It is repetitive and tiring, but there is a certain rhythm to it that we like. We don't try to be anything we are not. We are just a local sugar operation making sure the orders are filled and the trucks leave on time.
