J.S.S College Gokak

Our college is located on Falls Road in Gokak, which is part of the Belgaum district in Karnataka. It’s a beautiful area, especially with the falls nearby, and our campus has been a fixture here for many years. We have a lot of different departments, and the buildings are spread out a bit. It’s a place where students from all over the district come to get their degrees. We don't really go for the corporate look; our offices are full of old files and wooden desks, and there's always a bit of a buzz in the corridors. The staff here are mostly local people who have lived in Gokak for a long time. We spend our days managing classes, dealing with the university paperwork, and making sure the grounds are kept up. It’s a lot of walking back and forth between the different blocks. During the monsoon, the whole place gets very green, but the rain can make the walk to the main gate a bit of a trek. We aren't trying to be anything other than a solid place for people to learn. Most of our students come from farming families or small businesses in town. We keep the gates open early and stay until the last bus leaves in the evening. It’s a lot of routine, but it’s what keeps the place running year after year without any major problems. We’re just part of the local landscape here and we take it one day at a time.
