Sunrise Education Academy

Khaniyadhana is a quiet part of Shivpuri, and Mandi Road is usually the place where you see the most action. Sunrise Education Academy is located right along this stretch. Since it is Mandi Road, you often see tractors or trucks carrying produce passing by the front gate, which can get a bit dusty during the dry months. The school building is fairly simple, with a series of classrooms that look out over the nearby fields. We have a routine that starts early in the morning. The sun comes up over the horizon and the students start trickling in from the surrounding areas. Some of them come by bus and others walk from the nearby houses. Inside, the atmosphere is pretty basic. We have wooden benches and blackboards that get covered in chalk dust by the end of the day. The teachers usually spend their breaks sitting in the small office, catching up on grading or talking about the local news. Shivpuri can get quite cold in the winter and very hot in the summer, so we just adapt to whatever the weather is doing. There is a small patch of ground where the kids play during their lunch break. It is just a local academy where we try to keep things organized and make sure the students have what they need for their lessons. Life here on Mandi Road is predictable and steady, and that is how we like it. We are just a small part of the Khaniyadhana community.
