Prassan Kirana Store

Prassan Kirana Store is right in the middle of the main market area. Our address is 2-3-744/1/A, which sounds a bit complicated on paper, but we are really just near the main road. Most people around here know us because they pass by every day on their way to work or the local bus stop. We sell the usual stuff you’d expect from a kirana store. Big bags of rice, lentils, spices, and small household things. It gets quite busy in the mornings when everyone realizes they forgot to buy milk or sugar for their morning tea. The shop isn't huge, so things are stacked pretty high up to the ceiling. I spend a lot of time counting out change and packing up small bags of groceries for the neighbors. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of our customers by their first names. It’s not a fancy supermarket with bright lights or air conditioning. It’s just a regular shop with an old fan that clicks a bit too loud in the summer heat. We keep the doors open all day long. The dust from the main road comes in sometimes, but that’s just part of being in this busy location. Life here is mostly about making sure the inventory is right and checking the dates on the biscuits. It’s steady, quiet work. We open early and close when the market finally gets quiet at night. Just a normal part of the neighborhood, really. Nothing more to it than that.
