Dashmesh Engg. Works

Dashmesh Engg. Works is situated in Pawargarh. We are right on Vidisha Road. This road is a main route, so there are always big trucks and buses passing by. Our workshop is a bit old. The walls are stained with oil and there is iron dust on almost everything. It’s not a clean place, but it’s an engineering works, so that’s expected. We have some heavy machinery that makes a lot of noise. When we are working, you can’t hear anything else. We have a high roof to keep it a bit cooler, but it’s still hot in the summer. We don’t have an office staff. We do the billing ourselves on a small wooden table in the corner. Sometimes the grease gets on the papers. We just wipe it off. Vidisha Road is quite dusty, so we have to clean the machines every morning before we start. We’ve been in Pawargarh for a long time. We know the other shop owners around here. We help each other out with tools sometimes. We don't have any fancy brochures. People just bring their work to us because they know we are here. It’s a tough job and the hours are long. We usually go home with black hands and tired backs. But that is just how the work is. We don't mind it much. It is what we know.
