Sahara Traders is right in the middle of the Auto Market by Ram Bandhu Talab. If you know the West Burdwan area, you know how hectic the market gets, especially on Monday mornings when everyone is restocking. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a good while. It’s a lot of coming and going with different parts and traders stopping by to chat about the news. The shop isn't very big, so we end up stacking things wherever they fit against the walls. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for in the piles, but we always get there in the end. We don't really do the whole corporate thing with fancy uniforms or anything. Most of us just wear what’s comfortable for moving heavy boxes around all day. It gets hot in the summer because the air doesn't move much in this part of the market, but we’ve got a couple of old fans that do the trick. People stop in not just for business but sometimes just to say hello while they’re out doing their own errands. We handle a lot of different items and it keeps us on our toes. It’s a noisy, busy place but it feels like home to us. West Burdwan has changed a lot since we first opened, but our little corner in the Auto Market stays pretty much the same.
