Neha Saree

Neha Saree is based at 206, G.T. Road in Asansol. If you know the Durgapur area, you know how busy this road gets with all the trucks and buses. Our shop is right there in the middle of all that noise. We’ve got sarees stacked up from the floor to the ceiling almost. It’s a lot of work to keep track of all the different patterns and colors we have. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know the inventory inside out. The shop doesn't have air conditioning, so we rely on the breeze from the door and a few ceiling fans. It gets quite dusty because of all the traffic on G.T. Road, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the glass counters. We aren't into any big promotional stuff. People just walk in when they need a saree for a wedding or a festival. We spend a lot of time unfolding the sarees so people can see the full design, and then we have to fold them all back up again. It’s a slow process and can be quite tiring on the back. We have a few wooden stools for customers to sit on while they look. It’s not a polished or high-end place, just a regular shop where we do our best to help the people who come in. We’ve been here for a while and we know the local crowd well.
