Jibika Rice Mill Pvt. Ltd. is situated in the Paraj area, under the P.O.-Pursa in Burdwan. This part of Bengal is famous for its rice, and we are right in the middle of it all. Our mill is a place where the local harvest comes to be processed. The smell of boiling paddy and the sound of the hullers is what we live with every day. It is a busy place, especially after the main harvests when the trucks are lined up all the way down the road. We have a solid team of workers who know the machinery inside out. It is not a clean job; there is husk and dust everywhere you look, but that is how you know we are working. The building is large and functional, built to handle the weight of thousands of bags of rice. We do not spend time on making the place look pretty for visitors. We focus on the grain. Burdwan is a place where people know their rice, so we have to be careful with how we do things. It is a lot of responsibility to handle the food that people put on their tables. We just take it one day at a time, making sure the boilers are hot and the rice is drying correctly. It is a local life and we are happy to be part of it.
