Herbal Medicine Traders

Herbal Medicine Traders is tucked away on the first floor in Pucca Bajar. If you look for the Agency Hamdard, you’ll find us pretty easily right near there. Being on the first floor means we don't get as much walk-in traffic as the street-level shops, but people who need us usually know where to go. The air inside always smells a bit like dried leaves and roots because of what we trade. It’s a small space, mostly filled with bags and jars and boxes of various herbs. We spend a lot of time sorting through things and making sure everything is stored properly so it stays good. The stairs up to the shop are a bit narrow, so you have to watch your step. We’ve been in Pucca Bajar for a long time. It’s a busy market area, so there’s always something going on downstairs. Sometimes the noise from the market carries up here, but it’s mostly just background sound to us. We deal with many different suppliers and customers who are looking for specific herbal items. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting bags and weighing things out on the scales. We don't use many fancy machines. Just our hands and the old ledger books to keep track of what comes in and goes out. It’s just how we’ve always done it here in this corner of the building. We close up around six.
