Bombay Motor House

We are over at 81 G.T. Road (East) in the Murgasol area. If you are looking for us, we are right opposite the Hotel Asansol International. G.T. Road is the main artery here in Burdwan, so it’s constantly humming with trucks and buses passing through. Bombay Motor House is a place for people who need parts or have issues with their vehicles. The front of the shop is usually lined with various engine components or tires. It’s greasy and we usually have stains on our clothes by noon. That’s just the nature of working with motors. We’ve been at this spot for quite a long time. The building itself is a bit old, and the sign out front has faded from the sun over the years. We don't really mind. Customers know us by name, and we know most of the drivers who pass through this stretch of road. It’s a busy life. Sometimes we’re helping someone with a breakdown right on the shoulder of the road, and other times we’re just sorting through crates of spares. It’s not a polished showroom. It’s a workshop and a store rolled into one. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during the long shifts. It’s a gritty job but someone has to keep the trucks moving through Asansol.
