Panday Rice Mill

Our mill is located in Village-Churamanpur, in the Ahirauli area. We are in the Buxar district, right near the government school. Panday Rice Mill is a small, local operation. We spend our days processing paddy for the farmers in the village. It’s a lot of manual work, and the dust from the rice is everywhere. We can hear the kids playing at the school while we work. It’s been here for many years, and not much has changed. The machines are old and sometimes they need a lot of tinkering to keep them running. We don't have a big team of workers. It’s just a few of us who have lived in the village all our lives. We don't have a fancy website or a big sign out front. Most people just know where we are. The summer heat in Buxar can be really tough, especially inside the mill. We take breaks under the trees when it gets too hot. It’s a simple way of living. We aren't trying to grow into a huge business. We just want to do the work well and keep the mill going for another year. Sometimes things are slow, and we just sit and talk. Other times, we are working late into the night to finish an order. It’s just a regular part of life here near the school.
