Svr & Sons Earthmovers

You can find us at number 56 in Angaraya Nallur, over in the Udayarpalayam area. Svr & Sons Earthmovers is a family thing, so it’s always felt a bit more personal than those big companies you see in the city. My father started things and now we’re just keeping it going as best as we can. The building isn't much to look at, just a practical space where we keep our tools and parts. There’s always a bit of oil on the ground and the smell of diesel in the air, which I guess is just part of the job. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room. If you show up, you’ll probably just see one of us coming out from under a machine with a wrench in hand. It’s not a clean job, but someone has to do it. We spend a lot of time on the phone coordination where the machines need to go next. Sometimes things go wrong and a part doesn't arrive on time, and those are the stressful days. But usually, we just take things one day at a time. The local community knows us and we try to be fair with everyone. We aren't looking to expand into some massive empire. We just like working with our hands and making sure the machines are in good shape for whatever task is next. It’s a quiet life here in Udayarpalayam, mostly.
