Advika Hollow Block

At Advika Hollow Block, we work out of number 17 in Vilandai Thilagar Nagar, Andimadam. It’s a quiet corner of the town. We are a small operation, mostly just family and a couple of local guys. We make the blocks used for houses and compound walls. The machines we use are old and they make a lot of noise, but they still work fine if you oil them regularly. Our yard is usually covered in a thin layer of grey dust. We don't have a showroom or anything fancy like that. You just walk into the yard and see what we have in stock. If we don't have enough, we tell you how many days it will take to make more. We don't like to over-promise. The weather in Andimadam can be very dry, which is good for drying the blocks, but bad for the dust. We drink a lot of water throughout the day to stay cool. My kids sometimes come by after school and help move the smaller pieces. It’s a family business through and through. We don't have any big plans to expand. We just want to keep making good blocks for the people in our neighborhood. It’s honest work and it pays the bills. If you’re looking for us, we’re the ones with the big stacks of concrete near the end of the street. Just come by whenever you see the gate open.
