Poornima Diabetics Hospital

Our place, Poornima Diabetics Hospital, is located at 73a Kamarajar Salai, right where the foot traffic is usually heavy. It is a narrow building that goes back quite a bit. You can hear the vendors calling out on the sidewalk during the morning market hours. We have a lot of regulars who come in to get their sugar levels checked, so the morning starts very early for us. Most of the staff arrives while the air is still a bit cool. We have these old metal filing cabinets that squeak every time we open them to find a patient’s history. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than five people are waiting in the front, but everyone seems to manage. We have a small TV in the corner that usually plays the news, but mostly people just chat with each other while they wait. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit steep, so we tell people to take their time. We don't use any big fancy words to describe what we do here. It is just a hospital focused on one thing, and we try to keep our heads down and do it right. Sometimes the traffic on Kamarajar Salai gets backed up so much that we can hear the horns from the back rooms. It’s just part of being in this neighborhood. We are just local people helping our neighbors stay healthy, and that’s how we like to keep it every day.
