Kln Vidyalaya

We are out in Viraganur, on the outskirts of Madurai. It’s a bit different than being right in the center of the city, which we actually like. There is a little more breathing room, though it still gets plenty busy. The school building is spread out a bit more than the ones you see in the crowded parts of Madurai. We have some trees around the perimeter that provide a bit of shade, which is a blessing in the middle of the day. You can hear the birds sometimes, which is a nice break from the sound of traffic. The classrooms have high ceilings and the fans are always spinning to keep the air moving. We have a lot of old wooden furniture that has seen many years of use. It’s sturdy stuff, even if it has a few scratches and dings here and there. The office is usually the busiest place, with people coming in to pay fees or ask about the schedule. We don’t have a fancy reception desk, just a counter and some benches. Our staff is mostly local, and many of them have been here for a long time. We know the families in Viraganur and they know us. It’s a quiet kind of life, focused on the daily tasks of running a school. We don't try to be something we aren't. We’re just Kln Vidyalaya, sitting out here in Madurai, doing our daily work.
