Shree Shyam Traders

Down at Netaji Chowk in Jogbani, things never really stop moving because of the Integrated Check Post being so close by. Shree Shyam Traders is right in the middle of all that dust and noise. We spend a lot of our day watching the trucks line up at the border while we load and unload our own stuff. It is a busy spot, and sometimes the wind blows through the chowk and carries all the grit right into our front room. We do not have a lot of fancy decorations, just some sturdy tables and the ledgers we use to keep track of everything. The phone rings a lot with people asking about their shipments, and we do our best to give them a straight answer even when the logistics are a mess. We have been at this location for a good while, and we have seen the check post change over the years. Some days are slow and we just sit outside on plastic chairs and watch the people go by. Other days, we do not even have time to eat lunch until it is nearly dark. It is a lot of physical work, lifting and shifting, and our hands are usually a bit dirty by the time we lock up. We are not trying to be the biggest outfit in town, just a reliable place where the work gets done and the bills get paid. It is a simple life at the junction, and we like the routine of it all.
