Jivan Samuh Micro Foundation

We are based out of Amit Kumar Thakur’s place in Dameli. It is near Sanjhaghat, in the Dhamdaha area of Purnia. The pin code here is 854205. It is a rural part of the country, so things tend to move a bit slower than they do in the cities. Jivan Samuh Micro Foundation was set up specifically to help the folks living around these villages. We don't have a fancy corporate office with a lot of staff. It is just a room where we keep our books and meet with the local people. A lot of what we do involves visiting different homes and talking to the villagers about what they need. We spend a lot of time on the road between Dameli and Sanjhaghat. It is dusty work, but it is very important to us. We don’t use a lot of big words or complicated plans when we talk to people. It is mostly just common sense and helping each other out. Amit handles a lot of the coordination for us. We have all grown up in this area, so we understand the problems that people face with farming and small businesses. It is a small operation, but we are very dedicated to staying here and doing what we can. People know they can find us at the house if they have a question or need some support. We keep things honest and stay close to our roots.
