Jai Mata Murmura Mill

The machines at Jai Mata Murmura Mill stay pretty busy most of the week. We are located in Ward No-44 over in Belouri, right near the big FCI Godown. If you are walking nearby, you can probably hear the noise of the mill running. It’s a bit dusty inside, which is just part of working with grain and making puffed rice all day. We spend a lot of time checking the heat and making sure the texture is right because if it’s off, the whole batch isn't much good. I usually get here before the sun is all the way up to get things warmed up. My clothes always end up smelling like toasted rice by the time I go home in the evening. There isn't much space for sitting around here, as most of the floor is taken up by bags and the processing equipment. We have a few guys who help with the heavy lifting because those sacks of grain are not light. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult with the humidity, but we’ve learned how to deal with the weather over the years. It’s hard work and it gets hot near the machinery, especially in the summer months. But we have been doing this in Belouri for a long time now and the routine is just part of life. We don't do anything fancy, just the basic work that needs doing.
