Bidhan Construction Private Limited is a small outfit located in Vill Araria Tola, which is part of the Panchdeori Block in Parbatta. Out here, things move a bit slower than they do in the big cities. We don't have a lot of the big machines you might see on massive highway projects. Instead, we rely on a lot of manual labor and the skills of the local men from the village. Our office is just a simple room where we keep our logs and the blueprints for the local projects we take on. Araria Tola is a quiet place for the most part, but it gets noisy when we are mixing concrete. We deal with the basics of building, like making sure the bricks are soaked properly and the mortar is the right consistency. It is very practical work. We spend a lot of time talking to the people in the block about what they want to build and how much they can afford to spend on it. We have to be very careful with our supplies because it takes a long time for a truck to get all the way out here to Parbatta if we run out of something important. We don't use any fancy language to describe ourselves. We are just local people who know how to build houses and walls for our neighbors and the nearby villages. It is a steady life and we keep at it.
