Naruvizhi Ambal Modern Rice Mill Private Limited

Our mill is located at 3-3-12 on the Aranthangi Main Road in Natarajapuram, right in Puduvayal. It’s a big space because we need the room for the machinery and all the grain that comes through here. Even though people call it a modern mill, it still feels like a traditional workplace to those of us who are here every day. We deal with a lot of trucks coming in and out from the main road, so it can get pretty hectic around the gate. We’ve got a group of people here who have been working together for a long time. We know each other’s families and what’s going on in the neighborhood. The work involves a lot of monitoring the machines and making sure the rice is processed just right. It’s a lot of standing and walking on concrete floors. We don't really have a big marketing team or anything like that. Most of the people we work with are folks we've known for years. Puduvayal is a good spot for this kind of business because of the local farms nearby. When the harvest season hits, we are working almost around the clock. It’s tired work but feels good at the end of the day. We try to keep the place tidy but with all the husk and dust, it’s a constant battle. That’s just life at a rice mill. There's always a lot of heavy lifting but we manage it together.
