The North Bengal Agro Service Centre

We’ve been here at 71 Avanam Road in Peravurani for a while now. Most days start pretty early because farmers are already out and about before the sun gets too hot. It’s a busy spot in Thanjavur and we try to keep up with what everyone needs for their fields. The North Bengal Agro Service Centre isn't anything fancy to look at. It is just shelves full of things people ask for and a lot of dust from the road outside. Sometimes the delivery trucks show up late and we have to shuffle things around to make room. It gets a bit cramped when several people come in at once asking about different seeds or tools. We spend a lot of time just talking to the folks who stop by. You learn a lot about how the weather is affecting the crops just by listening. Sometimes someone just wants to sit for a minute under the fan. It’s not always easy keeping everything organized. Paperwork piles up on the small desk in the corner and I usually have to clear it off every Friday just to see the tabletop again. My hands are usually a bit dirty from handling the sacks and moving stuff around, but that’s just how it goes here. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us doing the heavy lifting and making sure the orders are right. It's a simple life in Peravurani, focusing on the work that needs doing today.
