Likita Bhandar

You can find Likita Bhandar right on G. T. Road. We are at the Banstala More in the Harishabha area of Hooghly district. Being on the G. T. Road means there is never a quiet moment. There are always trucks, buses, and bikes zooming past our front door. Our shop is a small, busy place where we keep all sorts of things. It’s not the most organized spot in the world, but we know where everything is. The walls have been the same color for years and the floor shows the wear of many feet. We get all types of people stopping by, from locals living in Harishabha to travelers just passing through Hooghly. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who take turns minding the counter. We talk to our customers about the news or the traffic while we help them find what they need. It’s a very local feel here. We don't go in for fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just a regular bhandar doing regular business. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded inside, especially during the festive seasons, but we manage. Hooghly is a place with a lot of history, and we feel like a small part of the daily life here at Banstala More. We open up early and stay till the evening traffic starts to thin out a bit. It’s just our way of living and working. That is the story for now.
