Bbk Leathers

You can find Bbk Leathers at 42-B in the Sipcot Industrial Complex. It’s a massive area, and we are just one small part of it. Working with leather is a messy business, so our place isn't exactly the cleanest. There are scraps of material everywhere and the smell of the tanning process is something you never quite get used to, but it’s what we do. We have a solid crew of workers who know their way around the hides. The sun beats down on the corrugated roof of the shed, making it feel like an oven sometimes, but we keep the fans going. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting and moving heavy stacks of material. We don't have any polished floors or bright lights. It is a functional space built for production. Most of our days are spent checking the quality of the skins and making sure the machines are running right. There isn't much time for sitting around. We have a small room off to the side where we keep the ledger and the phone, but most of us are out on the floor. It’s a hard life, but it’s steady. We don't go in for fancy talk or promises. We just produce what we need to and send it out to the customers. If you come by, you’ll likely see us covered in dust or dye, just getting on with the day's work.
