Singh Plywood Glass House

If you go down Arakkonam Road, you will find Singh Plywood Glass House at number 204. We are situated right across from the bus stand. It’s a very busy spot because of all the people coming and going from the buses all day long. The shop is filled with various sheets of plywood and different types of glass. It can get a bit crowded inside with all the stock we keep. We have been in this location for a good while. The front of the shop is usually open to the street. You can hear the bus conductors calling out and the engines running most of the time. It’s a very lively place to work. We spend our days moving heavy sheets and cutting glass to the right size. It’s hard work and your hands get pretty dirty by the end of the shift. We don’t have a fancy showroom with spotlights. It’s a warehouse-style shop where everything is stacked up. Customers usually come in knowing what they need, and we just help them find it. Sometimes we sit on the stools near the entrance when it’s quiet. We know the other shop owners on Arakkonam Road. It’s a tight-knit community of tradespeople. We just focus on keeping the inventory in order and helping the people who walk in from the bus stand. It is a simple, hardworking life here.
