Aman Hardware Store

We are located right in the middle of Jahangirabad Mandi, specifically on Pukhta Bazaar Road. If you know where the Town School is, we are just a short walk from there. The street is always loud with the sounds of carts, motorcycles, and kids shouting during their school breaks. Our hardware store is a bit of a local landmark, mostly because we’ve been here so long the sign is starting to fade and peel. Inside, the air smells like metal and wood shavings. We keep everything from heavy hinges to tiny screws tucked away in wooden drawers that we built ourselves years ago. It can be hard to find things sometimes, but I usually know exactly which drawer to pull out. My son helps out after his classes, though he spends more time on his phone than helping move the heavy paint buckets. We have a small bench outside where the older men from the bazaar sit and talk about politics while I work. The floor is made of rough concrete and stays cool even when the sun is beating down on the road outside. We don't do anything special, just sell what people need for their homes and listen to the gossip of the market. It is a busy life, but it keeps us busy and we like being right in the heart of the action where we can see everything that is going on.
