We spend most of our time out at the sites or sitting here in the office at 373/2/G in Chetna Nagar. Being in Ward No 12 of Anuppur means we see a lot of the same faces every day, which is just how things go around here. Hariom Shanti Constructions Private Limited isn't some huge fancy operation with glass walls and suits. It’s mostly us in our dusty boots, talking about where the next load of sand is coming from or why the rain is holding up the foundation work on a local plot. Gram Anuppur is where we live and work, so we know the ground pretty well. Some days it is just a lot of paperwork at the desk, but usually, we’d rather be out seeing how the bricks are laying. We’ve got this little spot in the Tehsil area, and it gets pretty warm in the afternoons, so the chai break around four is something nobody misses. It’s a simple way of living, really. You get an order, you find the laborers, and you try to get the walls up before the season changes. People come by the office to talk about their houses or just to say hello while they’re passing through Chetna Nagar. We don't have a big front desk or anything, just a couple of chairs and a lot of blueprints rolled up in the corner. That’s just the way we do things here in Madhya Pradesh.
