Our place is located on Thondangi Road here in Annavaram. It’s a busy spot with plenty of farmers coming in to ask about pipes and setups for their fields. We have a lot of black tubing and plastic parts stacked up in the yard. It can look like a bit of a mess to someone just passing by, but we know where everything is. The sun hits the metal roof of the office pretty hard in the middle of the day, so it gets warm inside. We spend a lot of time looking at maps of plots and trying to figure out how many meters of line someone needs. It’s mostly just practical talk about water and pressure. People come in with broken valves or just to see what’s new for the season. We aren't really a shop with a fancy window display, more of a warehouse and a desk. Sometimes we have to go out to the sites, but mostly we stay here at the 5-19-84 address. It’s a lot of manual work moving those heavy rolls of pipe around. The phone rings more than I’d like, but that’s the way it goes. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and most people in the village know us by name. The yard gets muddy when it rains, making it hard to move the truck. We just put on our boots and keep working.
