The Santa Kidz School

We operate out of Om Banglows in the Sardar Park area of Ankleshwar. It’s more of a residential neighborhood, so it feels a bit like being at home rather than a big cold office. We have taken over a couple of units to make room for the classes. Because we are in a housing colony, we have to be mindful of the noise, especially when the kids are playing outside in the mornings. There’s a small park nearby where we sometimes take them for a walk. The rooms are a bit tight, but we’ve tucked in shelves for books and bins for all the toys. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just a few of us who live nearby and work here. The parents usually live just a few streets away, so they walk their kids over. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after art projects and making sure the lunch boxes don’t get mixed up. Ankleshwar is an industrial town, so it gets quite hot and dusty. We keep the fans running and try to make the space comfortable. It’s not a grand place, just a simple school for the local kids. We handle everything ourselves, from the teaching to fixing the leaky taps. It’s a hands-on kind of job and we’re used to the daily routine of this little corner of Sardar Park.
