Shaikh Petroleum

Shaikh Petroleum is over at 8, Old Colony Shpg Center on Valia Road in Gidc. It’s a busy spot because of all the industrial activity around here. We deal with petroleum products, so there’s always a lot of safety stuff we have to keep in mind. The shipping center isn't new, and you can tell by the look of the bricks and the pavement. We’ve been here for a long time. People stop by in their trucks and we get them what they need. It’s a lot of manual work and standing around outside in the sun. We don't have a big air-conditioned office to hide in. Most of the time, we’re out there in the heat. The air smells like oil and fuel, but we don't even notice it anymore. Sometimes the delivery trucks get delayed on Valia Road because of the construction. We just wait it out and keep moving once they arrive. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s an important one for the guys working in Gidc. We don't have a website or any of that fancy stuff. People know our name and they know where to find us. We keep things honest and just try to make sure everyone gets their fuel on time. It’s a long day most of the time, but we like the work. There is always something to do around the shop to keep us busy.
