Out here at 104/526 in GIDC Palel, Auro Pumps Pvt. Ltd. has its home. Being in an industrial estate like GIDC means it is always a bit hectic around us. We have trucks coming in and out, and the sound of machines is just something we are used to by now. Our building isn't new, it has some character and a few scratches on the walls from years of moving equipment. We don't have a big front office with a receptionist; usually, you just walk in and find one of us working on something. We handle the day-to-day operations with a small group of people who have been here a long time. It’s hard work, and sometimes things don't go exactly as planned, but we figure it out. We deal with pumps and parts, and there is always grease on someone's hands. It’s not the kind of place where people wear suits. We just want to get the orders right and keep the machines running. The heat in the summer can be a bit much in the workshop, so we drink a lot of water and keep going. We don’t have any grand statements to make. We just show up, do the work, and head home when it’s finished. It’s a decent living and we’ve built some good local connections over the years. We stay busy enough to keep the doors open and that is enough for us.
