K. R. Industries

K. R. Industries sits on the 1st floor at 5016/1 in the Gidc Estate. Having the office upstairs means we can look down on the street and see the tempo trucks arriving with raw materials. It’s a busy spot, and the stairs are narrow, so moving things up and down can be a bit of a struggle. The air in the estate usually smells like oil and burnt metal, which is something you just get used to after the first week. We’ve got a couple of machines running most of the time, and the vibration is something we don't even notice anymore. Our desks are old wood, scarred from years of use, and we keep the files in metal cabinets that squeak when you open them. It’s an honest, working-class environment. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone to make things look pretty. If a customer comes by, we just pull up a plastic chair and talk shop. Most of the guys here have been with us for a long time, so we don't need to say much to get the day started. We just focus on the production schedule and try to keep our overheads low. It’s a simple life, focused on making things that last, right here in the middle of the industrial belt. No one here is looking for fame, we are just keeping the production lines moving along.
