Jj. Wirecloth Industries

Jj. Wirecloth Industries is based in the first phase of the Gidc Estate, not too far from the Char Rasta. It is a standard industrial unit where we make various types of wire cloth. We have these big looms that weave the wire into mesh, and they make a rhythmic clacking sound all day long. It is the kind of noise that stays in your ears even after you go home. The estate is a busy place, but our little corner is mostly just us and a few workers who have been here for years. We spend a lot of time checking the wire for any breaks or flaws, because if the mesh isn't perfect, it’s useless. It’s tedious work, sitting there and looking at tiny holes all day, but it’s important. We get our raw wire from the bigger suppliers and then we turn it into something useful for filters or screens. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a concrete block with a big shutter. We don't have a website or a marketing person. If someone needs wire cloth, they usually just show up at our door or give us a call on the landline. It is a steady life, and we are happy just to keep the machines running and the orders going out to the local factories that need them for their own production lines.
