Royal Fibro Rubber Products

Our shop is at Plot No 4919 in the GIDC. If you come by, you’ll probably smell the rubber before you even see the sign for Royal Fibro Rubber Products. It’s a distinct scent that sticks to your clothes after a shift. The building itself is just a standard industrial shed. Inside, we have the molding machines and the cutting tables. It’s quite messy with scraps of fiber and rubber bits on the floor, but we sweep up at the end of every day. We’re not a huge company, just a small group of people making parts. We spend a lot of time checking the heat on the presses. If the temperature isn't right, the rubber doesn't set properly, and then we have to start the whole process over. Nobody likes wasting material, so we pay attention to the gauges. The lights are a bit dim in the back corner, but we know where everything is kept. We don't have a receptionist; if someone comes to the door, whoever is closest just goes to see what they need. It’s a very informal way of doing things, but it works for us. We’ve had the same neighbors for years, and we all kind of look out for each other’s plots. The work is physical and repetitive, but there’s a sense of satisfaction when a batch is finished and packed for delivery. It’s just a regular local business trying to keep things moving along.
