If you look for us near Ficom Chokdi, you’ll find our gate at Plot No. C 1 B 4750 in the GIDC. It’s a bit of a maze back here, and the trucks coming in and out of the chokdi area can make it hard to get through some mornings. Akhil Industries is really just a bunch of sheds and a small yard where we keep the raw materials. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to answer phones with a script. Usually, it's just someone from the shop floor wiping their hands on a rag to pick up the call. We do a lot of basic industrial fabrication and supply work. The machines are older but they still run fine if you treat them right. We have a couple of dogs that hang around the entrance, and the guys usually share lunch under the shade of the mango tree near the back fence. It gets really hot in the summer, so we try to get the heavy lifting done before noon. It’s a simple setup where we focus on the job at hand without much fuss. We’ve had the same neighbors for a decade, and we all help each other out when someone’s crane breaks down or a delivery gets lost. It’s just how things work in this part of the industrial estate. Being near Ficom Chokdi means there's always something going on outside our gate, but inside, we just keep to our daily tasks.
