Patel Timber Mart

We have several plots from 100 to 103 right in the middle of the Timber Market. It’s a big space because timber takes up a lot of room. When you walk in, you’ll see stacks of wood reaching almost to the ceiling. The air always smells like sawdust and fresh cut logs. We’ve been in the market for a long time, and everyone knows the Patel name around here. It’s a family thing, really. My uncle and cousins are usually around, helping to load the trucks or talking to the carpenters who come by. It’s a noisy place with the saws going, but we like it. We don't really do much in the way of decoration. The office is just a small wooden room in the corner of the lot. We keep our ledgers there and a couple of old chairs for visitors. Customers usually come in and walk around the stacks to find the right grain or size they want. We don't push them to buy anything specific. They know what they need for their furniture or building work. It gets quite dusty, so we’re always covered in a bit of wood shavings by the end of the day. It’s honest work, and we’ve been doing it the same way for years. We just keep the wood dry and wait for the regulars to stop by. That's our whole day.
