Our place, Darshan Pharmachem Pvt. Ltd., is situated at Plot No. 3609. It’s a chemical unit, so things are pretty strictly laid out here. We have to follow a lot of rules, but the atmosphere inside is just like any other local workplace. There’s the smell of different chemicals in the air, which you get used to after the first week. We spend a lot of time watching gauges and making sure the drums are sealed right. The building itself is just a big blocky structure with a lot of pipes running along the ceiling. We aren't a massive corporation with hundreds of people; we’re just a dedicated crew doing our shifts. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend half the day fixing a pump, but that’s just part of the job. We keep a small office near the front for the logs and the shipping papers. It’s usually a bit cluttered with samples and test results. We don't have a receptionist or anything fancy. If someone comes to the gate, one of us just goes out to see what they need. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but we like the quiet of this plot. We just keep our heads down and focus on the batches we need to finish by the end of the week. It’s hard work, but we are used to the routine and the smells.
