Brahmani Construction

Plot No. 4109-A is the place where we keep everything for Brahmani Construction. It is not much to look at, just a gated area for our tools, some bags of cement, and the odd pile of bricks left over from a job. Most of our time isn't actually spent at the plot. We are usually out at different sites, checking on how the walls are coming along and talking to the workers. My boots are always caked in something, usually dried mud or white plaster. We have a lot of phone calls during the day, mostly about where the sand delivery went or why a certain worker didn't show up. It is a lot of managing small things so the big things do not fall apart. We sit around a wooden table sometimes to look at sketches, but half the time we just figure it out while standing on the actual site. There is no air conditioning in our little office space, just the windows open and the sound of the street outside. We have been doing this for a while now, so we know which suppliers are reliable and which ones will make us wait. It is a basic business. We build things, and we try to make sure they stand up straight. There are days when nothing goes right and the weather ruins a fresh pour of concrete, but you just deal with it.
