Down at Plot No. 5310, things are usually moving pretty fast. We handle a lot of coating work here. It is a specific kind of job that requires some patience and a good eye for detail. The machines take up most of the room. You can smell the chemicals and the materials as soon as you walk in, but you get used to it after a few minutes. We spend most of our time watching the rolls turn and making sure the layers are going on even. It’s not a job for someone who wants to sit around. There is always a spill to clean up or a roll that needs changing. The floor is usually covered in scraps of paper or film depending on what we are running that day. We’ve had some of the same people working here for years. They know exactly how the machines sound when they are running right. If something sounds off, someone is on it pretty quick. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. Just the workspace and a small area for coffee. It gets dusty, but we try to keep the main production area as clean as we can. Dealing with adhesives and coatings means things can get sticky if you aren't careful. We just try to get the orders out the door on time and make sure everything looks right before it gets packed up. Arrow Coated Products is just a regular factory.
