Amar Ice Industries

Amar Ice Industries sits at Plot No. 4709-2. It’s a cold place to work, obviously, with water on the floor and heavy blocks of ice sliding around. We make ice for all sorts of things, from fish markets to local events that need to keep drinks cold. The machinery is old but reliable, making that steady thumping sound all day and night. We have to work in shifts because the ice-making process doesn't really stop. It’s a lot of lifting and moving, and you’re almost always damp by the time you go home. The plot isn't particularly large, so we have to be smart about how we stack the blocks in the storage area. We don't have a big office or a team of salespeople. People just know where we are when they need ice. During the summer, it gets incredibly busy, and we’re often working late to keep up with the demand. Sometimes the trucks are lined up outside waiting for their turn. It’s a simple business model—freeze water and sell it. But it takes a lot of effort to keep the equipment running and the temperatures low. We don’t do anything fancy or complicated. We just focus on making sure the ice is clean and frozen solid. It’s a bit of a rough environment, but we’re used to the cold and the noise. That’s just life at Plot 4709-2. We are just here every day making sure there is enough ice for everyone who needs it.
