Our place is at Plot No. 20/21 in the G.I.D.C. Estate, right near the Karmatur Chokdi. Being near the chokdi means there are always people and vehicles moving around outside. We do a lot of interior work, so the workshop is usually filled with the smell of cut wood and some paint. There are piles of plywood and different materials stacked up against the walls. We have a few workbenches where the guys spend most of their time measuring and cutting things. It’s not a showroom, so don’t expect anything fancy if you walk in. It’s a working shop where things actually get built. We have a small area where we look at drawings and talk about the plans for the day. Sometimes it gets really dusty when the sanders are running, so we keep the doors open for air. The neighbors at the estate are mostly small businesses like us. We’ve been at this location for a few years, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the place. We start the morning with a quick chat about what needs to be finished and then just get to it. It’s a lot of manual labor, and by the end of the day, everyone is pretty tired. We just try to make things that look good and work well for the people who hire us.
