About Chetan Coach Builders Pvt. Ltd. – Metals & Minerals in Ankleshwar
If you head down to Plot No. 88/1 in the G.I.D.C. area, you’ll find our workshop. It’s a loud place with a lot of metal clanging and the smell of welding going on all day. We build coaches and big vehicle bodies here. It’s heavy work and our clothes usually have some grease or paint on them by lunchtime. The G.I.D.C. is a busy industrial zone, so there's always trucks moving around and people working in the neighboring units. We’ve got a team of guys who know how to handle steel and aluminum. We don't sit in an air-conditioned office much because the real work happens on the shop floor. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought because a part doesn't fit right or the weather makes the painting difficult. We just keep at it until the coach is ready to go. We’ve been at this for a while and the machines we use are old but they still work fine for what we need to get done. It’s not a polished environment. There are scraps of metal in the corners and the concrete floor is stained, but that’s just how a real coach building shop looks. We focus on making things sturdy. If it’s not strong enough to handle the rough roads, we don’t let it leave the gate. It’s honest work and we like seeing a finished bus drive out into the world with our name on the side.
