G. E. B

G. E. B is located out on GJ SH 46 in Gujarat. Being right on the state highway means we see a lot of trucks and long-distance travelers passing by our building. The office is a bit isolated compared to the city shops, so it can get quite quiet when the traffic thins out in the afternoon. We handle a lot of the local utility stuff and making sure the power keeps flowing to the nearby areas. It’s a lot of technical work and monitoring equipment. The building is a bit functional and grey, designed for work rather than looking good. We have a small crew here, and we all know our roles pretty well. Most of us have been working for G. E. B for many years. We spend a lot of time checking meters and looking at charts on our desks. When there is a storm or bad weather, things can get pretty hectic for us. We have to be ready to go out and fix things at a moment's notice, no matter what time it is. The desks are covered in manuals and old logs. We don't have a lot of modern furniture, just the stuff that has been here since we started. There’s a small patch of dry grass out front and a dusty parking area for our vehicles. We drink a lot of chai to stay alert during the long shifts. It is just a regular office where the work is steady.
