Sagar Engineering

Our shop is the first one you see in Gandhi Bazar, right near the Dhenkanal R.S. post office. Being shop number one makes it easy to find, which is helpful because the bazaar gets very crowded on market days. Sagar Engineering is not a huge factory or anything like that. It is just our small space where we keep tools, spare parts, and whatever else local people are looking for. Usually, there is some metalwork being tinkered with at the back of the shop. It is noisy and smells a bit like machine oil most days, but we are used to it. We opened up here because Dhenkanal needed a reliable place for engineering supplies without having to travel too far to the big city. Most of our customers are farmers or local workers who need something fixed or a part replaced. We spend a lot of time looking through old catalogs or checking the back shelves for specific bolts. It is not a glamorous job, but it is important for the town. The post office next door is a good landmark for people coming from outside the district. We have seen the bazaar change a lot over the years, but our shop stays pretty much the same. We have a couple of old wooden benches for people to sit on while we find what they need. There is always a lot of talk about the weather or the local crops while we work.
